The Turkey

I used a new recipe/method this time around and didn't use a turkey bag. I slathered a melted butter and lemon zest and juice concoction on it instead and it turned out AH MAY ZING. Yeah buddy.

Since I'm on top of things like that . . .

I feel like lately I've been getting better at posting more often. This is because of a few things:
  • the Droid makes it way too easy
  • I've got fun stuff to show off
  • since finishing my crazy block religion class I've got a LOT more time
  • I'm blogging for another class, which makes blogging here easier
Regardless of these reasons though, I just plain old do like blogging. I like it when people comment too, because that way I know who's staking me . . . anyway.

The last week was good for me creatively. Picts:

I was lucky enough to do the wedding flowers for one of Rob's cousin's. I made eight bouquets, four bouts, and two wrist corsages for the occasion. Having not worked with flowers since August, it reminded me of how much I LOVE designing flowers. What made this such a great experience too was that I wasn't a part of the wedding party, so things were a lot less stressful for me than they were in August too . . . I think I'm going to upload some of those images too, since I haven't done that yet . . . anyway.

For the wedding I used Ocean Song roses, Queen Anne's Lace, Plumosa fern, Dusty Miller, and white hydrangeas . . . yes, I said that right. WHITE hydrangeas. I used Just for Flowers color tool and "painted" them purple. Florists are so tricky sometimes.

I also got my own website "up". Check http://kwheelwright.com. There obviously isn't much there yet, but it links to my weebly portfolio site, and it has my contact information, so I think that's good enough for now. I designed the graphic and wrote the html and css for the page, so I'm feeling pretty proud of myself. *pats self on back* AND DID YOU SEE THE FAVICON? Yeah, I made that too.

And yes, I am going to make a turkey tomorrow as well. :)

Cold.

I was out shooting this morning, trying to get some inspiration for a couple of assignments that are due tomorrow. The mornings have dropped below freezing. Of all days I of course didn't wear my long underwear, wool socks, gloves, or a scarf today. So here I am, waiting for the light to get right, shivering my patoskie off.
