Avoiding Packing? I AM!

I probably have the shortest attention span for a 23 year old. Tonight I came home from chillin with Kami, Kristina, and Amilkar in DC and was determined to pack for my trak to SLC later on this afternoon . . . So what do I do? Take silly Napoleon Dynamite quizzes instead, and check e-mail. Well, at least it was informative!

Napoleon
You are Napoleon Dyanamite and a buttload of gangs
are trying to recruit you.

Which Napoleon Dynamite character are you?
brought to you by Quizilla

So there I am. Napoleon Dynamite, apparently . . . cool. Now I REALLY have to pack, so I can sleep tonight!

THE TREE

What better way to spend a Saturday afternoon in December than putting up a Christmas Tree? I don't know, because that's what I did this morning.

Here I am hidin' in the branches. Aren't I cute?

Unfortunately this is only as far as I got. We ran out of Christmas lights. Oh well. I guess I'll finish later.

Dancing the Night Away!

After the Christmas Party Kami, Brindy, and I went to Maryland to dance the night away and meet up with our Latin Lovers.

First though, we stopped off at the DC Temple and Visitors Center to see the lights. Here is Kami and Brindy freezing in front of the beautiful lights!

And here is the Majestic Temple it'self! Wow, what a beauty!

Once we got to the dance, we all did a fine job of shakin' what our Momma's gave us. Here is Brindy demonstrating the goods.

Here's Juan, Brindy, and Kami posing for a cute cheeser!

After the dance, we headed off to IHOP for some grub and socializing. Here is Kami and Lenny . . .

. . . And Amilkar and myself. Kristina, eat your heart out!

White Elephants Anyone?

Tonight we had our Stake Young Single Adult Christmas Party. We had a fantastic dinner, excellent company, and a halarious white elephant exchange! I took some half used hand soap, body wash, and lotion from Yankee Candle that smelt like boy (not like "locker room" boy, more "old spice" boy) as my white elephant. I was impressed that it actually got fought over a bit before someone ended up with it. I ended up getting to pick my gift fourth out of 35, and ended up with a couple of real gems . . .

This lovely jumper for example, was first mine. Then Michelle stole it. Then Andy stole it. Eventually Linda ended up with it in the end. Jerks. I was going to give it to my Father for Christmas so he could use it when he works on his cars, but no. I also got a machete which was promptly stolen by Dave and Robert. Jerks. I could have used that when I go swashbuckling through the forest in my backyard! Anyway, here are a few of the other delights that was had that night . . .

As you can see, Galin ended up with a fantastic array of decorative pins from Avon.

Michelle got some super-cute gloves with monkeys on them. SWEET!

And Andy was wanted by all as Miss Alaska. Fitting, seeing as he is from Alaska. Grrrrrrr! At the end of the night I ended up with three candles from IKEA. Not a bad gift I admit, at least I now have some long burning candles for my seventy-two hour kit!

Mmmmm, Water . . .

Everyone needs a good picture of themself drinking the finest beverage around, don't they? Okay, okay . . . I just really liked it of myself. Thank heavens for Kami and I going to Ruby Tuesday tonight for some grand grub after catchin' the fine chick flick, Pride and Prejudice so that I could have such a kodak moment.

Kami's Kuteness

Here is Kami in my killer glasses. Ain't she cute?

Yet Another Reason to LOVE Institute . . .

Three words, Brother Jack Rose! Need I say more? No, but I sure will! He's just baout the best story teller I've ever met, and the funniest man with one of the most halarious pasts. One of my favorite things? His voices. The voices and the little dance he does when he says "yeah!". I LOvE IT!! Brother Rose, Thanks for all the fun, all the enlightenment, and especially for teaching me how to tie a bow tie! WOO HOO!! Someday that skill will come in plenty handy for me!

They Came Home!

As I've said before, this last week taught me some valuble lessons. One, that I am a social creature, two that sleepovers are super fun, and three that I LOVE MY JOB! But most importantly that I am SOOO glad Laurie and the boys are home! I could never live alone. I'm addicted to people!

In celebration of their return, I bought this beautiful evergreen wreath . . . that and that it reminds me of home. My Mother always gets an evergreen wreath, so it made me dual'ly happy.

My Favorite Things . . .

I spent this morning at one of my favorite places . . . Kind of places, that is. I braved I-495 alone and went to the Washington DC Temple, and Visitors Center. It was a beautiful day, and experience!

As you can see it was clear skies, and sunny beams of light all around!

When I went into the Visitors Center, I was warmly greated by two wonderful sisters, whom my good friend NatalĂ served her Mission with there! Even trained one of them! How awesome is that!

As you can see, I spent a good protion of the day there, as while I was leaving, the sun was setting to the West. A well spent day at the Temple!

Bowling in Style!

When you thought I've already had plenty of fun for one weekend, I blow that idea out of the water! I can never have enough fun, HELLO!! Don't you know me by now? AND it's only Friday!

So tonight I got together with the crew and met up at Bowl America in Occoquan. Here we have Malia and Kami in front, with Michelle, Robert, Linda, and Ron in back. We're all ready to roll . . . the ball down that waxy lane! WooHoo!!

What is a night out without a goofly picture of Kami and I? Not a real night out, afterall!!

Here is Kami looking fabulous in Chris' Yankee tuc. Ain't she cute?

Now, me not being a bowler by ANY means, am pretty impressed with my form here. The mouth wide open thing especially. I actually didn't do too bad tonight on my games. the first game I got a 98, which is three times more than what I normally score . . . the second game on the other hand, well lets just say that we all let our score slip during the second game. But it was a whole lot more entertaining!

For example, one of the amusing things we really got into was using the hand dryer as a fan . . . Kami got the billowy hair thing down!

Malia didn't do too badly either!

I, on the other hand didn't have much sucess with the flowing hair thing. I guess it helps that the other grrrls have hair longer than three inches long.

Malia really showed off some sass though. With her hot parka and Robert's sultry glasses, you can get a much better combination.

Happy Birthday Damien!

Happy Happy Birthday Damien Dear!
Happy Days Will Come To You All Year!
If I Had A Wish That It Would Be

I LOVE YOU DAMIEN!! Have a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my newest favorite eight year old nephew!!

Brushin' da Toofers

After our fantastic french toast goodness, and some ice cream and hot chocolate Kami and I decided it was about time to get the slime outta our mouths . . .

Amazingly attractive, aren't we ?

We're lucky we were able to take the first few pictures, as we were laughing our heads off! We ARE SO funny!

French Toast Anyone?

After our filling meal at Robert's place, Kami and I went home and chilled for awhile, and then went over to Michelle's pad for the weekend. She's dogsitting you see, so we had some comfy and cozy couches to loaf on. After a movie, both Kami and I were ready for some grand grub once again.

Michelle volunteered to make us some french toast, and we happily let her, as we were starving! I even tried calling Pizza Hut . . . lucky enough for them, they were closed.

After rifling through the cupboard, Kami found the syrup!

Then Michelle went all wicky wicky on her because of the mess she made . . . "You better clean that up!"

At least while Kami was down for the count on the floor, she got a fantastic picture of herself!

Stuff-a-thon?

Actually this year we didn't stuff, we ate modestly, thank you! Thankfully I have great friends that invited me over for the holiday, being that I am approxmately 2,111 miles away from home. I spent the afternoon at Robert's house with his family, and more friends.

Here we have Dave, Robert, and Ron. Good thing we lined then up by height, eh?

Here's one of all the lucky peeps that were fortunate enough to spend the day with me . . . hehe . . . Kami, me, Chris, and Linda in front, with Dave, Robert, Burke, Christina, Cindi, and Ron in back. Lucky, aren't they?

TURKEY BOWL!

So what is Thanksgiving without a turkey bowl? It's just a bunch of turkey and gravy . . . but still ohh so good! Thankfully enough though, we were able to pull together a few brave souls to come out and play this year!

Here we are getting ready to start the game. Katy brought her dog, Tundra who helped with a touchdown, Cindy hiding in the back back, while Jake and Dave are fixed on something in the sky . . . then there is Anthrea lookin' all cute and ready to rumble, Jeremy hiding out, Chris playin' it cool, and me? I'm just ready to get drrrty! Let the mudfest begin!

Kami and posing for the 'tuff muddy' picture.

After much slipping and sliding and spitting we gathered together for a group picture. Anthrea and Katy had already gone home to clean up, but here we have Kami and I in the front, with Jake, Dave, Chris, Jeremy, and Chris all dirtied up! The only other person we were missing was Cindy, as she took the glorious picture.

Kami and I definately were the most decked out though. Our secret to keeping warm was the neon tights! She in hot pink, and I in smurf blue!

Aren't we just faboo? Kami may not look too dirty, but mud doesn't show up as well on red. Jake had to agree, so he stuck his head in the picture too.

While the Families are Away, the Nannies will Play!

Today I was left all alone for Thanksgiving weekend as Laurie and the boys are off to Vegas to visit family. I, being a social creature realized that within about five minutes of their departure I was in need of friends. Thankfullly enough, Kami and I met up at the mall and shopped for a couple of hours, and then we devised a plan to get the peeps to come over to my place.

I made pancakes, and we played Apples to Apples, which is always a favorite of mine . . . and then Kami and I hunkered down to watch a movie while I hemmed some pants that I want to wear tomorrow. To keep herself entertained, Kami took some fabulous shots of herself.

After cutting off 5 inches from the length of my cords we fashioned them into hats . . . and went on a great adventure!

At first, we didn't know quite what to do with ourselves, but goofy pictures are always a good place to start . . .

As those who know me well can agree, I use any opportunity I can to put up my tent. It doesn't matter if it's snowing, raining, or freezing outside, I'll put the darned thing up in a living room and sleep in it, just for the adventure. As you can see, tonight was no exception, and I dragged Kami along with me!

Yes, she was a little shocked at first, but then I gave her some options . . .

Where shall we go next? Shall we explore the woods out back? Toilet paper my neighbors? Make paper mache animals out of The Washington Post piling up in the recycling bin?

In the end we stayed put, laughed hard, and fell asleep to the sound of the cracking fire in the fireplace. This is my favorite picture of the whole night. It just shows that we know how to have fun!
